Looking for Hours of Mentor Coach Specific Education?

If you are looking for an ICF-accredited course to complete the education requirements for the MCS, you can find CCE courses already approved as CCE related to mentor coaching through the Education Search Service (ESS)

  • Select “CCE” and your preferred language, then click “Search” (you do not need to complete any additional search fields unless you have other specific criteria identified).
  • Once the results populate, use CTRL+F (or Command+F on a Macintosh/Apple device) and search the keyword “mentor” to view programs with “mentor” included in the title.

Please note that some programs included in the results are not mentor coach training programs, but rather mentor coaching packages designed to support individuals seeking mentor coaching hours for ICF credentialing purposes. You can discover the CCE hours offered, content of the course, program contact information and their website, by clicking on the organizations name in the results listing.

In addition, please be advised that part of the MCS requirement includes completing the evaluation trainings for the credential level(s) in which you intend to provide mentoring.

The available evaluation trainings and associated hours are listed below:

ACC BARS Training – 5 hours
PCC Marker Training – 40 hours
    PCC Marker Follow‑Up Training – 12 hours
MCC BARS Training – 5 hours

All trainings are available through the ICF Learning Portal.

Looking for Robust Foundational Mentor Coaching Education?

ICF Coaching Education has released a new Advanced Accreditation in Mentor Coaching accreditation.  Education organization can create 60+ hours of mentor coach specific education programs.  These programs will be available for students in the coming months.  Once available, you will be able to find the one the Education Search Service (ESS)

  • Select “AAMC” and your preferred language, and any other specific criteria you desire (or you can leave the fields blank), then click “Search”

Please note some AAMC programs will include the level specific evaluation training, but they are not required too.  Be sure to find out if the evaluation training is included.  If it is not, you may use the training available through the ICF Learning Portal.

Want to Use Non-ICF Accredited Education for your MCS?

If you have found a program that is not ICF-accredited, you can still use it to meet the education requirement for the MCS.  However, any education must be aligned with the ICF Mentor Coaching Competencies.  The program should be designed to develop mentor coaching skills.  In addition to the certificate or letter of completion, you will also need to supply documentation demonstrating the content and context of the course.
