Can I be a Mentor Coach?

Modified on Tue, May 12 at 3:09 PM

Currently, the only requirement to be a mentor coach is that you are ICF credentialed at the level the applicant is applying or higher. The only exception to that rule is for ACC credentialed coaches, who must have been through at least one credential renewal before they can be an eligible mentor coach.

Beginning on January 1, 2027, all ICF credential candidates must work with a mentor coach who has earned the MCS designation. That means that you will need to earn the MCS designation to continue offering mentor coaching to initial applicants and renewal applicants.
