MCS Credit for Prior Learning Application - Resources for Applying

Are you looking to apply for the Mentor Coach Specialization (MCS) through the Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) application path?

If so, here are some resources to help you understand what the process will look like, what you need in hand to compete the application, and the link to survey to create the application(s) when you are ready.

Important Notes about applying for the MCS

1. You must apply for your MCS at each credential level you wish to provide mentor coaching.
   
   
2. You only pay for your first MCS application.  After you submit your MCS application, you will receive an email acknowledging in has been received.  This email will also include a code for you to apply for your next MCS application with no additional charge.

Checklist for Standard Mentor Coach Specialization Pathway 

• Ensure you hold an ICF PCC, MCC, or renewed ACC in active status.
• Complete at least 10 hours of mentor coaching education.
• Complete the current ICF evaluation training course(s) for each level of specialization(s) you seek to earn, which can be used towards your education requirement (Need to complete the training?  Visit the ICF Learning Portal.)
  • ACC BARS Training
  • PCC Marker Training
  • MCC BARS Training
    
• Confirm you have 5 mentor coaching clients who have successfully earned a credential in the past 3 years or have mentor coached at least 5 students within an ICF-accredited Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 program, or a combination of both.  Please note the following:
  • Mentor coaching used towards a client's renewal of credential does not qualify.
  • You may count the same clients to apply for the MCS at all levels.
  • If you serve as a mentor coach within an ICF accredited Level 1, 2, or 3 program, you will need to provide a letter from your program that confirms this information.
• Apply for Mentor Coaching Specialization (MCS) through the Credit for Prior Learning Mentor Coaching Pathway.
• Receive your MCS Badge and addition on the Mentor Coach Registry.
• Join the ICF Mentor Coaching Community of Practice on ICF Engage.
