What is Coaching in Organizations (CIO) ?

Modified on Wed, Feb 19 at 10:36 AM

ICF essentially offers two membership options: individual and group. Group memberships are processed through ICF Coaching in Organizations by making the organization itself a member and passing benefits through to its employees.

Eligibility:

ICF Coaching in Organizations memberships are available to most organizations, with the following exceptions:

  • Organizations primarily engaged in coaching education.
  • Organizations that derive substantial revenue from providing coaching services.

Group Membership Inquiry & Sales:

  • Organizations interested in group memberships should contact a member of the ICF Coaching in Organizations team. Aslan Moini is the current sales representative.
  • Discounted pricing is based on the number of coaches the organization intends to enroll (see table below).

Payment Options:

  • Central Payment: The company pays for the entire group, typically via wire transfer. Some companies use third-party payment processors (e.g., Ariba), which ICF must accommodate.
  • Source Code Purchase: Individuals pay for their own memberships online via credit card. (See next section for individual payment instructions.)
  • Hybrid: Both of the two options above are used to fund the account.

Membership Cycle:

Organizations have a 12-month membership cycle. Employee memberships within a group account typically align with the organization's cycle, with limited exceptions.

  • Employee Records: Employee membership details can be found on the "Relations" tab of the organization's record in NetForum.
  • Payment Method & End Dates:
    • Central Payment: Employees paid for centrally will not have an end date listed.
    • Source Code Purchase: Employees who used a source code for payment will have an end date, which includes a 60-day grace period beyond the organization's expiration date.

Membership Benefits:

ICF Coaching in Organizations members receive all the benefits of individual members, plus the following exclusive benefits:

  • Access to the private Engage site.
  • Exclusive networking events.
  • Exclusive educational events.
  • Other benefits specific to this membership type.
