Can Coaching Supervision take the place of Mentor Coaching?

Modified on Sat, Apr 5 at 3:49 PM

No, Mentor Coaching and Coaching Supervision are both distinct practices that benefit coaches in different ways.  One can not be substituted for the other.

Mentor Coaching is narrowly focused on developing a coach’s skill in the ICF Core Competencies.  Mentor Coaching is required to earn an ACC, PCC or MCC Credential and for the renewal of an ACC. Coaching Supervision is broader, supporting the coach in any area of their coaching practice. Coaching Supervision is required to earn an ACTC.
