What is the difference between the Coach Knowledge Assessment (CKA) and the new ICF Credentialing Exam?

Modified on Fri, 20 Oct 2023 at 11:51 AM

Every applicant for an ICF Credential will be required to take a written examination.

The main difference between the Coach Knowledge Assessment (CKA) and the ICF Credentialing Exam is the method in which the exam is delivered. The ICF Credentialing Exam is a proctored exam in both the testing centers and online examinations.

The ICF Credentialing Exam will still cover the ICF definition of coaching, the updated ICF Core Competencies, and the ICF Code of Ethics and you will still have three (3) hours to complete the exam.

You can learn more about the new exam on the FAQ page linked below.
